Jultember: bunless is funless...

my recent surge in allergic unhappiness has prompted a return to the strict avoidance of wheat products, as they seem to enhance my body's response to all of the airborne things that are trying to destroy me at this time of year.

sadly, this means a return to naked franks, and i have come to the conclusion that bunless is funless... which—many would probably agree—is a statement that could be easily applied to most things in life.

random aside: i am in love with these smoked-sausage-type-weiners. they have that proper outer casing that makes a little snapping sound when you bite into it. but... best of all... they have little pockets of cheddar cheese that melt when you heat them up. it is so good, you almost forget about the bun.

and speaking of funless...

i am still toiling away on my rush-job knitting project. and, while i have accepted the likelihood that it will not be done in time for this weekend, i cannot seem to stop trying to make that happen.

i do not usually do green, but a bit of lunacy seems to be helpful every once in a while, so i am giving it a go. there is a lovely all-over textured pattern to the fabric which includes rows of large eyelet holes. [ignore the gold yarn. it is not part of the finished object.]

i missed a single eyelet last night, which proved to be the source of much frustration and a minor existential crisis. i had to scan the fabric several times to even figure out why my stitch count was down by one, so there was little-to-no chance that anyone else would have noticed it. however, i knew it was there, and my attempt to ignore it and move on did not get very far before OCD kicked in, requiring me to have to rip back ten (very long) rows to fix the problem.

i was so annoyed at that point, that i shoved the whole thing to the side... and i went to sleep. so, i may not have a cute new top to wear to the upcoming fiber festival, but i just may have discovered the cure to my frequent bouts of insomnia... frustration!
